2015-16 Killpatrick Fellows Recognized

The School of Human Environmental Sciences is honored to award the Alice P. Killpatrick Fellowship to outstanding graduate students each academic year. During 2015-16, six students were named recipients of this prestigious fellowship. The fellowships are funded through an endowment created via a gift from the estate of Mrs. Killpatrick. Killpatrick graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1938 with a degree in home economics.

2016 School of HES Student Awards Announced

The School of Human Environmental Sciences recognized eleven outstanding students through the presentation of the 2016 Student of Excellence and Student of Distinction Awards on April 29, 2016. The awards program, established in 2006, honors both undergraduate and graduate students. Undergraduates are nominated based on academic excellence, leadership, and service in the School of Human Environmental Sciences. Graduate students are nominated based on their research or creative works, leadership and service in the School.

School of HES Graduate Student Research Day has great turnout

Engaging in research and discovery is an important part of the mission of the School of Human Environmental Sciences. On April 1, 2016, the School recognized student’s excellent research by holding the third Graduate Student Research Day (GSRD). Sponsored by the Research Center for Families and Children, graduate students in the three academic departments of the School were invited to submit research posters for review and presentation.
