The School of Human Environmental Sciences (HES) would like to recognize Allison Goderwis and Qun Zhang for being chosen as the two recipients for the Alice P. Killpatrick Fellowship for the fall 2017 semester.
HES Alumnus Inducted in 4-H Hall of Fame
Nominated by the Kentucky 4-H Youth Development Program, Lucas was one of 16 people inducted during the ceremony at the National 4-H Youth Conference Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Honorees were presented with a National 4-H Hall of Fame medallion, plaque and memory book during the ceremony.
Recognizing Twelve Years of Leadership

New Lactation Room Opens In Erikson Hall
Students, faculty and staff in Erikson Hall and the nearby University of Kentucky community now have access to a specially equipped lactation space. The School of Human Environmental Sciences has established a mother's room on the second floor of Erikson Hall. The goal of the space is to provide breastfeeding mothers with a relaxing, private space.

School of HES Partners with KEHA to Enhance Sewing Cooperatives in Ghana
In May, a partnership between the School of Human Environmental Sciences and the Kentucky Homemakers Extension Association came alive as two villages in Ghana were presented with their wish of new sewing machines. Led by Dr. Kim Spillman, Associate Professor in the Department of Retailing and Tourism Management, this partnership is part of an ongoing initiative in Ghana.
