Graduate Student Fellowship Opportunities
The School of Human Environmental Sciences offers two application-based fellowship opportunities for graduate students in the Departments of Dietetics and Human Nutrition, Family Sciences or Retailing and Tourism Management. Please review the specific criteria below and apply for the Fellowhip that best fits to your current graduate program status.
Alice P. Killpatrick Fellowship
The Alice P. Killpatrick Fellowship is awarded to graduate students who are enrolled full-time in the School of Human Environmental Sciences. The student recipient(s) should have:
- Potential for academic and professional excellence;
- Maintained good academic standing;
- Possess citizenship and leadership qualities and participated in community-based activities;
- Financial need.
Preference will be given to students who have completed at least two semesters of a college level foreign language or have documentation of achieving the equivalent of two semesters of foreign language study.
John I. and Patricia J. Buster Fellowship
The John I. and Patricia J. Buster Fellowship is awarded to graduate students who are enrolled in the School of Human Environmental Sciences.
Masters level students must:
- Be enrolled in a “Plan A” program or equivalent which requires a written thesis;
- Have a minimum of 18 hours in the program; and
- Have an approved research-based thesis proposal.
Doctoral students must:
- Be in the dissertation phase of the program; and
- Have an approved research-based dissertation proposal.
Application Process
Please note the submission process has slightly changed this year to improve the application process. Each application must be submitted to your department chair for endorsement, upon which the applicant should upload the endorsed application onto RedCap, an online database, no later than January 23, 2020.
