The Kentucky chapter of Epsilon Sigma Phi (ESP), the National Honorary Extension Organization, recently presented individual and team awards during their annual chapter meeting. The honorees included several Family and Consumer Sciences Extension professionals.
- Lora Lee Frazier Howard, Clay County Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences, received the chapter Distinguished Service Award. This award is the highest chapter tribute to an experienced Extension professional who has consistently exhibited leadership and excellence in Extension program planning, delivery and evaluation over a career of more than 20 years.
- Janet Johnson, Allen County Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences, received the chapter Visionary Leadership Award. The award recognized her leadership for state, regional and local interdisciplinary Extension programs with initiatives such as community leadership, accessing local foods and community economic development.
- Jennifer Bridge, Meade County Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences, and Teri King, Meade County Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program Assistant, received a Program Achievement Award for Tuesday’s at the Market, a summer educational program offered in conjunction with the Meade County Farmer’s Market.
- The Owsley County School Health and Wellness Committee received the Distinguished Team Program Award. The award honoured the teams’ work to continue educational programs and expand the outreach of the school health fair. Team members included:
- Natasha Lucas, Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences
- Crystal Osborne, Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development
- Sherry Becknell, Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program Assistant
- Tracey Turner, Extension Program Assistant for SNAP Education
