Family and Consumer Sciences Extension welcomed four new County Extension Agents for Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) to campus recently for orientation. Green County FCS Agent Jordan Crain, Muhlenberg County FCS Agent Mary Beth Decker, and Jessamine County FCS Agent Jennifer Perry all started in January. Kayla Watts began back in October as the new FCS agent in Breathitt County. All of them are off to a busy start in their new positions. FCS Extension is happy to have them join the team!

Jordan is a May 2015 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management and Dietetics. Prior to joining FCS Extension in January, she worked with the Barren County school system as the nutrition services manager. She is married and lives in Center, Kentucky on a dairy farm. She is passionate about helping others and looks forward to being a part of the community.

Mary Beth graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition. Volunteering at the Calloway County Extension Office helped Mary Beth to realize that she did indeed want a career in helping people have a better life. Her hobbies include baking, working out and traveling.

Jennifer graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in General Dietetics. She completed her Master of Arts in Education with an area of focus in FCS and her Rank 1 in Library Science, both from Eastern Kentucky University. Jennifer is married and a proud mother of a two-year-old. For the last eight years, Jennifer has been a middle school teacher. She looks forward to this new chapter in FCS Extension.

Kayla earned her Bachelor of Science from Berea College in Family and Consumer Science Education and Master of Science in Library Media Science from the University of Kentucky. She is no stranger to FCS Extension as she completed a summer internship and volunteered many hours at various Extension programs. Kayla taught FCS at the high school level for three years and served as a Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) advisor. Her last job was with Kentucky Adult Education as Program Director of Adult Education in Breathitt County. Kayla is married and a proud mother of two daughters ages two and four.

FCS Extension is excited to have these four professionals join as part of the statewide team.
