Professional Profile

Jann's passion for nutrition, agriculture and food system work has been developed and honed through an array of academic and professional experiences. She completed her Bachelors of Science in Dietetics from the University of Dayton and will complete her Masters of Public Health: Health Policy and Management from Kent State University Spring 2018.

Jann moved to Floyd County Kentucky in 2014 to work at a non-profit high school, The David School. Here she was a Health & Wellness and Agriculture Teacher, as well as the Project Manager to the school's interdisciplinary garden program, Inch by Inch. Following her time at The David School, Jann join Community Farm Alliances team as their Eastern Kentucky Farm to Table Coordinator. During her time with CFA, Jann traveled and worked within the 21 southeast counties promoting local food procurement, coordinating farmer education and collaborating with government, academic and other Kentucky agricultural organizational partners. Before joining the Extension Team at the University of Kentucky, Jann spent several months in Liberia work on a child nutrition project aimed at understanding the baseline nutrition of school-aged children.
