In June, Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Extension welcomed four new agents and one new program coordinator to campus for orientation. Whitney Hilterbran began her career as the FCS agent in Scott County in April. Three FCS agents joined Extension in June – Mandi Broderick, Lewis County; Janey Cline, Hart County; and Peggy Jones, Rowan County. Natalie Jones joined the FCS Extension state staff in May as program coordinator for physical activity. We welcome these five new professionals and introduce them to you.
Whitney Hilterbran earned a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences Education and a Master of Science in Instructional Leadership from Eastern Kentucky University. Prior to joining Extension, Whitney taught family and consumer sciences at Grant County High School and served as advisor for the school’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America chapter. Whitney’s hobbies include cooking, crafting and fishing.
Mandi Broderick holds a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from the University of Kentucky. Previously, she worked as a rehabilitation nurse technician at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital. She enjoys running and exploring park trails across Kentucky.
Janey Cline earned a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership, a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies and an Associates of Science in Information Technology. Prior to joining Extension, she worked at Western Kentucky University. She enjoys gardening, food preservation and spending time with her grandchildren.
Peggy Jones joined Extension after teaching in public schools and at the university level. She holds three degrees from Morehead State University – a B.S. in Home Economics, a M.S. in Vocational Education and a Rank I in Secondary Education. Her hobbies include cooking and quilting.
Natalie Jones is currently serving as the program coordinator for physical activity with FCS Extension. She earned a Bachelor of Sciences in Exercise Science at Transylvania University and a Master of Public Health in Health Behavior at the University of Kentucky. She attended Africa University in Zimbabwe were she completed a graduate certificate in global health. Natalie enjoys half-marathons, triathlons, cross-fit training and yoga.
