The School of Human Environmental Sciences recently welcomed two new staff members in Family and Consumer Sciences Extension. Jon Stanley is the new Extension Associate in Family Finance and Deonna Ralls is the new administrative support associate for nutrition education programs.
Jon Stanley grew up in eastern Kentucky and attended Eastern Kentucky University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Public Relations in 2008. After completing his degree, Jon worked for Eastern Kentucky University in their recruitment department for two years. Stanley’s work will be focused with the Managing in Tough Times Initiative. He stated that he has always felt that he has a mind for money management and he looks forward to working with county Extension personnel. In his spare time, Jon likes to spend time with his fiancée and son. Also, he enjoys fishing and spending time at his hunting cabin.
Deonna Ralls joined Family and Consumer Sciences Extension in January as administrative support associate for the nutrition education programs. In this role, Deonna will work with budget planning, management and tracking for the Expanded Foods and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) grant. She comes to the position with several years’ experience in industry. Deonna and her husband Myron have two very active kids, Haleigh and Myron II. She enjoys spending time with family & friends and working with the youth at her church.
