The mission of the Hospitality Management Association (HMA) is to assist in developing careers, building networks, and serving the community. Membership is open to all students in the Hospitality Management and Tourism major, and students in related academic programs are welcome to inquire about membership. The motto for the HMA is "Southern Hospitality at Its Finest."
Each spring, the HMA joins with the Merchandising, Apparel and Textiles Club to sponsor the Color Me Spring Fashion Show. The fashion show provides an opportunity for the students to use their talents for event planning and fashion forecasting to showcase some of Lexington's best fashions from local boutiques. The event provides a fundraising opportunity for both groups, and funds generated support student travel to educational sessions and career fairs. HMA students annually travel to Atlanta for a regional career fair that typically produces intern positions or job placements following graduation.
For more information about the HMA, contact one of the 2012-2013 officers.
