Student: Mallory Patrash, Merchandising, Apparel & Textiles
Internship Location: QVC Headquarters, West Chester, PA
What is your typical day as an intern? As an intern I have many daily tasks including entering items into QVC’s systems and submitting items to quality assurance. I also get help from my supervisors and coworkers to understand the buying process. Each week I had the opportunity to shadow a different department manager and learn what they do on a typical day. A typical day may consist of chargebacks, markdowns, associate schedules and resolving issues for associates and customers.
What is one of the things you learned as a student that you use often as an intern? Our retail math course was very helpful during my internship.
What is one piece of advice you would give to students preparing for their internship?
Be proactive and have a great attitude. It will make a big impact on your supervisors and increase your chances of being offered a job at the end.
