The Cooperative Extension Service, through the Kentucky Saves Program, sponsored the second annual youth piggy bank contest.  Youth from across the state put their creativity to work to design unique and eye-catching piggy banks.  Winners from each Extension District are currently on display in the Capitol Rotunda in Frankfort as part of the February celebration of Kentucky Saves Month.

2012 Piggy Bank Contest Display

The piggy bank contest provided an opportunity to educate youth about the importance of savings and is a key component of the observation of Kentucky Saves Month.  Kentucky Saves is a statewide campaign affiliated with the national America Saves program.  The goal of this savings campaign is to educate citizens about savings and to encourage savings.  Learn more about the programs and join Kentucky Saves at http://www.kentuckysaves.org/.

The piggy bank contest winners will be on display throughout the month of February.
