Do you know a military family that would like to have lots of fun at a free camp this summer?  The Kentucky Operation: Military Kids (OMK) grant is offering free weekend camps for military families! The camps are open to Kentucky families (both parents and children) from any branch of the military. This includes Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard families. First priority will be given to families that have a service member who has been injured during military service.

Operation Military Kids Camp ActivitiesThe first camp will be held June 11-13, 2010 Lake Cumberland 4-H Educational Center in Nancy, Kentucky. The second camp will be held July 9-11, 2010 at the Life Adventure Center in Versailles, KY. Both camps will start at 5:00 PM on Friday and end at 4:00 PM on Sunday.

Families at the first camp will stay in cabins, while at the second camp they will stay in tents as a family.  At both camps families will eat together and participate in some traditional and non-traditional camp experiences. There are many exciting programs and activities planned for the camps. There will be fun programs such as archery, fishing, and hiking. There will be educational programs such as cooking, sewing, and geocaching. There will be military programs such as the mobile technology lab, Speak Out for Military Kids, and Military OneSource. Registration has already started, so spread the word about these camps today to military families you know!  This is a great chance to make new friends and family memories that will last a lifetime! For more information, contact:
