Kentucky Life, a magazine program produced through KET, documents Kentucky's diversity through profiles of people, places, and ideas. The School of Human Environmental Sciences hosted the production crew during spring 2008 as they filmed a segment showcasing the Lemon Tree Restaurant.
During the segment, Bob Perry, Director of the College of Agriculture Food Systems Initiative and instructor for the Lemon Tree, encouraged the concept of purchasing food grown and produced locally. Chef Perry also shared information about the Lemon Tree, a full-service restaurant managed and staffed by hospitality management and tourism and dietetics students in the quantity food production course. The segment showcases the student learning experience and offers viewers and opportunity to see students engaged in hands-on learning.
