Linda Bradley, a student in the doctoral program in the Department of Family Studies has won the American Council on Consumer Interests (ACCI) Thesis Award.  Bradley entered the master's program in Family Studies at University of Kentucky in 2005.  A native of Lexington, Bradley's research focused on the coping strategies and resources used by victims of Hurricane Katrina to recover from the financial losses they sustained.  Donna Smith, Associate Professor in Family Studies shared the following about Linda, "From the beginning of her Master's program, Linda was a strong student.  She had a keen interest in working with families in New Orleans, and actively pursued this passion."

Linda will present her research at the upcoming ACCI Annual Conference July 27-29, 2008 in Orlando, Florida.  This year's annual conference is a joint meeting with the American Agricultural Econonics Association.
