After 27 years as a faculty member in the Department of Family Studies, Dr. Ray Forgue retired at the end of 2007. Dr. Forgue was Department Chair for five years (1992-1997) and Acting Dean of the College of Human Environmental Sciences (1993-94). He has also served as Director of Graduate Studies and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department. He has served his profession as President of the American Council on Consumer Interests and Chair of the Eastern Family Economics and Resource Management Association. He is currently President and a member of the Board of Directors for the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education.
Dr. Forgue is co-author of Personal Finance, 1st through 9th editions, published by Houghton-Mifflin. This college-level text has been adopted by over 300 college and universities across the United States. His most recent book is entitled How To Care For Your Parents Money While Caring for Your Parents. It was published in 2003 by McGraw-Hill and covers the full range of financial activities that adult children may need to address as their parents age.
