The School of Human Environmental Sciences recently celebrated scholarly accomplishments from 2017, with special recognitions for faculty and staff. The number of externally funded grant projects remained strong. Ten projects, totaling more than $11.7 million, were secured during the calendar year to support research and perform outreach work.
The School also recognized those with scholarly work published through refereed journal articles and Extension numbered-series publications. Overall, HES faculty and staff authored either in part or in whole 33 published journal articles, along with 20 Extension publications. Lastly, but not at all least, the School honored faculty who, as the chair of their committee, mentored a graduate student through the completion of either their thesis or dissertation.
“Faculty and staff affiliated with the School are actively engaged in research, teaching and outreach in their disciplines. Honoring accomplishments made during 2017 is a great way to kick-off a new year, hopefully inspiring an even stronger 2018,” shared Kim Henken, Acting Director of the School of Human Environmental Sciences.
