Myrna McGahan WesleyEarlier this semester, Myrna McGahan Wesley retired from the Department of Nutrition and Food Science, ending a career than spanned more than thirty-five years.  Mrs. Wesley coordinated the first Human Environmental Sciences single parent project, procured grants, led curriculum development as director of undergraduate studies, and advocated for public policy and licensure.  Throughout her career, she provided competence, character, and integrity in teaching, mentoring and advising.

Mrs. Wesley has been awarded the Outstanding Educators of America Award, American Dietetic Association Dietetics Educators of Practioners Outstanding Educator, Outstanding Human Environmental Sciences Faculty member, Outstanding Dietetian of the Year, and the Kentucky Dietetic Association Outstanding Dietetic Educator.  She is past president of the Phi Upsilon Omicron Iota Alumni Chapter, Kentucky Dietetic Association, Kentucky Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, and Human Environmental Sciences Alumni Association.

Students, faculty, alumni, staff, and friends are invited to attend a retirement celebration Monday, April 14, 2008 from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m.  The celebration will be held in Gorham Hall in the E.S.
