Are you conducting research or working on a project and need help? The University of Kentucky Libraries want to offer students and faculty assistance with research and projects. A good first place to start with your work is the online research guides. The guides were developed by Jo Staggs-Neel, Reference Librarian in W.T. Young Library and the library's academic liaison for the School of Human Environmental Sciences.
Available at http://libguides.uky.edu/hes, the guides provide information about the research process, links to recommended books, and general information under a "Getting Started" tab. Links to discipline-specific journals, databases, and websites are accessible through a series of tabs correlated to the departments within the School of Human Environmental Sciences. The "New Stuff" tab provides access to a listing of books added to the library collection within the past two weeks.
Staggs-Neel developed the research guides to provide both faculty and students with easy access to information needed for their course work and research endeavors. In addition to the guides, she offers instruction sessions for classes and individual consultation sessions for faculty and students.
Staggs-Neel, a native of Kentucky, has worked in the Libraries at UK since 1988. Her acquaintance with the School of Human Environmental Sciences began in 2005 when she joined the staff in the Agricultural Information Center. She shared the following about her position, "I'm excited to be the HES Academic Liaison, and I want to support your efforts as fully as possible."
