Cabrina Buckman - Dietetics Intern Cabrina Buckman - Dietetics Intern

Cabrina Buckman, a hospitality management and dietetics double major, is completing her dietetics internship. In an electronic interview she shares her experiences:

Where are you completing your internship?

“I am completing my Community Nutrition rotation in Owensboro, Kentucky at the Green River District Health Department.  I will be completing my Food Systems Service Management and Medical Nutrition Therapy rotations in Danville, Kentucky at Ephraim McDowell Hospital.”

What is your typical day as an intern like?

“I really do not have a typical day as an intern.  The wonderful part about working in Community Nutrition is that your schedule of activities changes from day to day!”

What is one of the things you learned as a student that you use often as an intern?

“Besides, of course, using everything I learned in class, I use my study habits and organizational skills I developed in college to complete assignments on time.”

If you could share one piece of advice for other students in you major who are preparing to complete an internship what would it be?

“Go into each situation with a smile on your face and an open mind.”
