The University of Kentucky has partnered with Child Development Centers of the Bluegrass (CDCB) and the Kentucky Medical Services Foundation to open a new child development center on UK's campus.

The center will accommodate 166 children and offer a full-day preschool (6 weeks old to 5 years old) program for developing children and children with special needs. Over 100 of the enrollment slots will be made available to UK faculty, staff, and students.

The food service systems management planning and operations of the establishment will be set up with the assistance of Dr. Hazel Forsythe and some of her nutrition students. Amanda Harshman, a former student, completed a rotation of her dietetics internship with CDCB and began making food service plans for the new center. Forsythe, and Lauren Mason, a current NFS 480 student, will continue Harshman's plans.

Additional information about CDCB can be found at http://www.cdcbg.org/.
