The Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Education recently published an article ranking hospitality and tourism management graduate programs based upon a quality assessment. The rankings for the hospitality management and tourism master's program in the School of Human Environmental Sciences showed improvement.  The program was ranked 13th, up from a 2006 ranking of 18th.

Dr. Jason Swanson, assistant professor, remarked about the rankings, "We have worked hard in recent years to strengthen our graduate program.  It's nice to see our hard work paying off and being recognized.  We look forward to having an even greater impact on the field through our graduate students."

The hospitality management programs are part of a re-envisioned Department of Retailing and Tourism Management in the School of Human Environmental Sciences.  Dr. Vanessa Jackson, department chair, stated, "As faculty members in the Department of Retailing and Tourism Management continue to evolve and enhance our HMT graduate program, we believe this ranking will continue to rise.  The same is true for our MAT graduate program, also in RTM.  We are excited about the new opportunities we can offer both undergraduate and graduate students."

Congratulations to the faculty and staff who continue to focus on delivering a quality program for our students! Access the full article at: http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/10963758.2013.850302.
