The Family and Consumer Sciences Extension is excited to welcome three new Extension Agents. Martin County Agent Sarah Sumpter and Mason County Agent Heather Cheek are both new Extension Agents for Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Amy Fugate is working as a new Extension Agent for FCS/4-H Youth Development Education in McCreary County.
Sarah earned a Bachelor of Science in General Dietetics at Eastern Kentucky University. She began working as an agent on September 1st. Prior to her current position, she participated in the Cooperative Extension Internship Program during which she was placed in Lawrence County. Sarah is ecstatic to be back in her hometown community and hopes to make a positive impact. Outside of work, she enjoys all things outdoors, family, friends, and her dogs.
Amy joined the McCreary County Extension staff on September 19th. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Dietetics and Masters of Science in Community Nutrition from Eastern Kentucky University. She has worked as a nutritional professional in a variety of roles including in public health, First Steps Early Intervention, and working with adults with special needs. Amy has a 14-year-old daughter who is in the 8th grade. Amy enjoys yoga, hiking, bluegrass music, and vegetarian cooking.
Heather attended Eastern Kentucky University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies. On August 22nd she started her job as a new agent in Mason County. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family and baking sweet treats.
