RunwayThe 4th annual Color Me Spring Fashion Show, hosted by the Merchandising, Apparel, and Textiles Club and the Hospitality Management Association, was held April 25, 2014 at E.S. Good Barn.  Hundreds of students, faculty, staff, alumni and Lexington residents came out to support the Department of Retailing and Tourism Management’s student clubs and to see some of the season’s newest men’s and women’s fashions!

This year’s “night garden” themed event started with dinner, refreshments and silent auction bidding and was followed by a “day to night” curated fashion show.  Club members and Merchandising, Apparel, and Textiles students strutted down the runway wearing outfits donated from local boutiques and retail stores.  Club members, Nicholas Fazzino and Kaylee Hobbs (pictured below), emceed the event and provided the audience with laughter and outfit details.  This year’s outfits were provided by Target, Bluetique, Bella Rose, Calypso Boutique, Howard & Miller, Miss Priss, Ann Sawyer Hats, The Cotton Patch, Twirl Bridal Boutique, and Aj’s Boutique.

OutsideAttendees also bid on great auction prizes, ranging from Delta flight vouchers to group tickets to a Lexington Legends game.  The profits from the fashion show support the Merchandising, Apparel, and Textiles Club and the Hospitality Management Association events and trips.

Gracious sponsors of the event included Target, Campus Communities and the University of Kentucky Federal Credit Union.  Color Me Spring provides an opportunity to bring businesses, students, faculty, alumni and the Lexington community together for a fun night of support and appreciation to University of Kentucky student organizations.
