"Color Me Spring" takes the runway 6 p.m., April 18.

Students in the University of Kentucky’s Department of Retailing and Tourism Management (RTM) are producing the "Color Me Spring" fashion show on Thursday evening, April 18, in the ballroom of the Gatton Student Center. The event is a fundraiser for the department, which is housed in the School of Human Environmental Sciences within the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment.

The runway will highlight some of Lexington’s best fashions from Bella Rose, Carl Meyers and many others. In addition, UK alumnus Matt Smith will make a special guest appearance with a segment featuring a portion of his collection of vintage couture.

Activities begin at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour just outside of the ballroom featuring a silent auction and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Ticket sales, silent auction bids and donations all support Retailing and Tourism Management scholarships. Visit RTM’s Eventbrite page at www.uky.edu/colormespring to purchase tickets, or email RTM Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies Scarlett Wesley at scwesl2@uky.edu. Regular tickets are $35, with student tickets priced at $15. This Friday, April 12, only: student tickets will be sold for $10.

“We expect this to be our biggest and best show ever,” Wesley said. “Our students have worked extremely hard and are proud of what they’ve accomplished.”
