School of Human Environmental Sciences Task Force

The School of Human Environmental Sciences (including the Departments of Dietetics and Human Nutrition, Family Sciences, and Retailing and Tourism Management) was established in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment in 2003. The linkage to the Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Program strengthened, and the School administrative unit has fostered collaboration and provided resources to support all four units over the course of the past fifteen years. The units have experienced growth in student enrollment, extramural grants and outreach impact.

In recent weeks, Dr. Nancy Cox, Dean of the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, convened a task force to study the School’s organizational structure and management strategies to ensure that it is meeting the collective needs of students, faculty and staff. The recommendations from the task force will chart a course that builds on the School’s past success and positions it for greater achievement going forward.
