Two county Extension agents for family and consumer sciences recently participated in FCS new agent orientation on-campus at UK. We welcome Morgan Orange and Kay Denniston to their positions!
Morgan Orange began her work in Livingston County as the new County Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences on August 27, 2014. Morgan is a May 2012 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a B.S. in Design, Merchandising and Textiles. She is working toward a M.S. in teaching from University of the Cumberlands. Morgan previously worked as a Caldwell County Family and Consumer Sciences teacher where she taught food and nutrition, money skills, life skills and child development. She also was employed as an interim special education teacher for the Lyon County Schools. Morgan added to her Extension experience serving as the vice president of the Caldwell County Family and Consumer Sciences Advisory Council. She is a member of the Princeton Business and Professional Women’s Club.
Kay Denniston is an experienced educator with more than 30 years of teaching and implementing educational programs with individuals and families. She began her work as the County Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences in Bourbon County on April 13. She has a B.S. in Home Economics Education from Eastern Kentucky University and a M.S. in Vocational Education from the University of Kentucky. Kay taught family and consumer sciences and served as the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America advisor to the local chapter from 1992 to 2009. She also worked as department chair and as the in-school child care director. Most recently Kay was employed as administrative assistant at the Bourbon County Cooperative Extension office. She has proven experience working with local agencies and organizations and is comfortable functioning as a team member to improve her community. She is active in the Paris/Bourbon County Girls Fund Board and has been active in professional associations related to her work.
