Debbie Clouthier has been named Extension associate for food safety and preservation with Family and Consumer Sciences Extension. Prior to this position, she worked as staff support associate in the Department of Nutrition and Food Science.
Debbie has an educational background in chemistry and earned her bachelor degree from the University of Saskatchewan. Even as an undergraduate she had a strong interest in food science and nutrition. She is also a recent graduate of the office systems technology program at Bluegrass Community and Technical College.
In addition to her education experiences, Debbie was an active volunteer for many years in the Fayette County Public Schools system.
As the new Extension associate for food safety and preservation, Debbie's primary responsibilities will be with the Homebased Microprocessor, Champion Food Volunteers, Super Star Chef, and Food Preservation Boot Camp programs. She will also work closely with the Food Systems Innovation Center and agents and clients from across the state.
