Professional Biography
Dr. Courtney Luecking joined the Department of Dietetics and Human Nutrition as an Assistant Extension Profession and Extension Specialist in Food and Nutrition in September 2019. Her prior work experiences have spanned clinical, community, and research settings – including inpatient hospitals and outpatient clinics, the Women, Infants, and Children program, and a research dietitian for projects related to obesity and metabolism at the Center for Human Nutrition at Washington University in St. Louis. She works to develop, evaluate, and translate healthy lifestyle interventions for wide scale use and to promote use of evidence-based nutrition and physical activity practices and programs.
Dr. Luecking is a member of various professional organizations including the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Society for Implementation Research Collaboration, and the International Society for Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity. She has served in a variety of leadership roles at the local, state, and Dietetics Practice Group levels within the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and was recognized by the North Carolina Academy of Nutrition in 2016 as an Emerging Dietetic Leader.
