Professional Biography

Rusty Manseau joined the School of Human Environmental Sciences in 2009 and is now the Senior Graphic Artist for the School. Projects have included educational newsletters, nutrition calendars, websites, social media, annual reports, publications, and various marketing items.

Prior to HES, Rusty was a graphic artist at The Lexington Herald-Leader from 1998-2008. There, Rusty used his skills to create quality designs for several departments, including New Media, Advertising Creative Services, Circulation, Marketing, News, and Sports. His designs included several Herald-Leader front pages.

While a student at the University of Kentucky, Rusty developed and sharpened his graphic design skills as a member of the Kentucky Kernel student newspaper from 1995-1997.  His interest in graphic design began as a member of the Paul Laurence Dunbar High School newspaper staff in 1992, when he was first introduced to the Macintosh (a Mac Classic with a small black and white screen) running a design program called PageMaker. He's been a proud Mac user ever since!

Over the years, Rusty has won numerous awards for his designs, including several local ADDYs, several Kentucky Press Association (KPA) awards, several Kentucky Intercollegiate Press Association (KIPA) awards, an International Newsmedia Marketing Association award and two awards from Graphic Design USA Magazine.
