Professional Profile

Paul Norrod is an Agriculture Extension Specialist for Family and Consumer Sciences Extension. Paul’s research and education coupled with his nursing experience provides him a unique understanding of rural populations, stress and suicide. With over 20 years of experience, education, and training, Paul’s primary focus is reducing stress and preventing suicide among Kentucky’s rural and farming communities.

Paul’s research interests include farmer stress, suicide and suicide prevention, and agricultural health and injury prevention. His passions outside of work include time with his wife and six children which includes hiking and camping trips. His favorite places to hike include the Red River Gorge, the Chimney Tops in the Great Smokey Mountains, and the high deserts areas of Utah.
