HES Alumni and Friends Study Tour - Greece

lkaria, the Greek island, known as "the island where people forget to die," is the focus on this tour. lkaria is one of 5 "Blue Zones", an aging hot spot where people live to be a healthy 100+ years old. The health and longevity of lkarians is largely due to their lifestyle, which centers around having a reason to live, a focus on family, meaningful social connections, healthy diets, hard work, physical activity and spirituality.

HES Review Task Force

School of Human Environmental Sciences Task Force

The School of Human Environmental Sciences (including the Departments of Dietetics and Human Nutrition, Family Sciences, and Retailing and Tourism Management) was established in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment in 2003. The linkage to the Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Program strengthened, and the School administrative unit has fostered collaboration and provided resources to support all four units over the course of the past fifteen years.
