School of Human Environmental Sciences

Improving the quality of life of individuals and families in Kentucky, the region and the nation.

The UK School of Human Environmental Sciences (HES) is dedicated to the University of Kentucky's three-part land-grant mission: teaching, research, and extension/engagement. As part of the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, HES offers two graduate certificate programs: Family and Consumer Sciences and Positive Youth Development. Our faculty and staff are committed to leading efforts to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families in Kentucky, the region, and the nation. We achieve this through rigorous academic programs, cutting-edge research, and community-focused extension and engagement initiatives.
